Happy Halloween, everybody!

The Sandman (1991)

This creepy piece from 1991 was nominated for an animated short Oscar.

"Groovie Goolies" Monster Mash

Not going to lie - I've never heard of the "Groovie Goolies" before. Had to look this one up. Apparently it was a Filmation show running in 1970, a spinoff of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" which was already a spinoff of "The Archie Show." Only 16 episodes were produced. The animation is, shall we say, sparse? But this is a fun little treat for the season.

"Ruby Gloom" Theme Song

Michael Dougherty's Season's Greetings

This animated short from 1996 features the original appearance of "Sam," the iconic trick-or-treater who would later appear in Dougherty's live-action "Trick 'r Treat" feature film, as well as several shorts.

Scaredy Cat

A Halloween-themed "Simon's Cat!"

This Way Up

Sidewalk

A bittersweet meditation on the journey of life. Beautiful, lively animation and a great score.

I Am An Ass. You Are An Ass. We Are All Asses

Marilyn Myller

If you've ever created something, failed at creating something, or had your creation misunderstood, then you'll relate to this smart, beautiful short.

Usagi Yojimbo - "The Last Request"

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

With the new movie opening today, let's recall memories of yore with the original "TMNT" theme song (co-written by future "Two and a Half Men" and "Big Bang Theory" creator, Chuck Lorre).

'Weird Al' Yankovic - Lame Claim To Fame

As part of his just-ended "Eight Videos in Eight Days," Weird Al gave us some new animation. Enjoy!

Funny fat animals.

For no particular reason, here are wild animals... fat.
